A Little History

Here is a little history:

I began my love for art and design at an early age. My parents gave me an oil painting set when I was 13, and my first set of drafting tools a short time later. At age 15 I was designing floor plans and planning new color schemes for our family home.

After high school I went to El Camino College, and from there San Francisco State University where, in addition to exceeding the number of required Fine Arts Courses I attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design and Housing and upon graduation began designing interiors for Ethan Allen (Torrance), Evans Interior Environments (Costa Mesa), and various independent designers and architects in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and in the Fairfax District, all the time planting the seedlings to have my own business.

In 1997 I met the man who would soon become my husband. He had all the right tools for me: a table saw, a router, and a nice collection of hand tools. His first gift to me was a power drill. I had a small collection of tools, and together we started to add radial arm saws, plunge routers, and the best tool ever... the biscuit cutter!!! So, needless to say we were a perfect fit, and in 2000 we became Gibson and Gibson…

The rest is history... or as I like to say, History in the Making...
