I spent this cool February at a drawing course with instructor, Peter Zokosky, Drawing from Antiquity. I have taken several art courses from Peter, learning techniques by drawing that focus on anatomy of the human form... today we focused on the human form and sculptures at the Getty Villa.

Winter Rain Showers...
Rain clouds are always inspirational... whether off in the distance or right overhead. These beautiful white rain clouds had already passed over the South Bay and are now headed over the mountains... These images inspired a few "rain" drawings and line exercises with my art students....

Tran-Siberian Orchestra - Washington DC...
Awesome - Electrifying, Adrenaline charged Classical, Christmas, and Laser-Light Orchestra... It was so much fun...
Flew to DC on Tuesday, Arrived to wet, rainy and cold weather, but woke up this morning to lovely blue sky and crisp air... not as cold as I thought it would be... (though that is supposed to change by the end of the week)...
Had a tour of the White House this morning (the abbreviated - Self-guided tour)... no paparazzi or party crashers to note. The Holiday displays were just beautiful, as was the White House Ginger Bread Mansion (can't call it a house as it is just HUGE)...
Okay,... we also took in the National Museum of Art, and the Portrait Gallery. Tomorrow we check out the Lincoln Memorial and the other "sights"... word is that it's going to be cold... so perhaps a lot of indoor museums will be the order of the day...

Inspirational Park Setting
The lighting of the trees and grass are just gorgeous (never mind the purse and waterbottle)...
blurring the photo (as happens from my cellphone) actually allows me to ignore the details and focus on the light and dark... this presents a wonderful diffused image, similar to what impressionistic paintings are meant to look like...
